Who doesn't love cheese? Especially the decadent stuff with wine and crackers? yumm! In this book we have lovely photos of platters that will make your mouth water. To make it even better there are recipes for exotic dishes. Purple chips, Apple Chutney, Tequila-braised rhubarb are just a few of the very cool and challenging recipes. (Not a fan of rhubarb but I love tequila so...) Who doesn't love cheese? Especially the decadent stuff with wine and crackers? yumm! In this book we have lovely photos of platters that will make your mouth water. To make it even better there are recipes for exotic dishes. I really like the basic information laid out in the book. As a cheese enthusiast, I enjoyed the classifications of the tastes and pairings possible.
Only downside is the very specific types of cheese mentioned as a cornerstone for the recipes, I would have enjoyed it mkre if the recipe was based on a taste and texture and included suggestions of different types of cheese that could work.
Overall very exciting!

I love thinking about cheese-and-food pairings, so this book was right up my alley. Inventive themes, lots of recipes, beautiful photos -- since the book is about composing cheese plates, even the sources of the plates are listed in the resources section! There is enough information so that if a certain cheese is not available, you can use the descriptors to find a substitute.

There is enough information so that if a certain cheese is not available, you can use the descriptors to find a substitute.

Still, sourcing the cheeses and some store-bought items could be difficult and expensive, and making the recipes much more time-consuming than the book suggests. My only other quibble is that a lot of the recipes say they could also go with this or that other cheese, but there is no index for that, so I ended up ping-ponging around the book to the point it felt less fun and more of a chore. But don't let that stop you from checking out the book; it's great.

This book is simply amazing. Beautifully written & photographed with fantastic ideas for pairings with "the most perfect food." The author has the same philosophy of me about pairings (if you like it, it works) and highlights some of my favorite cheeses. It is almost like they were a former customer of mine! Extremely specific cheeses and even more so with the ingredients that make up the 'side' recipes. Very little info on 'how-to' design a plate let alone a multi person 'board'. In fact most of the 'plates' amount to a *slab* of a specific cheese with 1-3 paired side. Nearly no direction on artistically cutting and laying out cheese for consumption. Very beautiful. The format was very artistic - the cheeses and accompaniments were displayed like works of art. I also got some useful ideas on how to build a modern cheeseboard and am looking forward to making a few of the recipes.

Love reading about different flavor pairings and different cheeses. The only downside is that to find all these Cheese's would be really hard. Quickly skimmed the book. nice pictures and provides pairing suggestions for various cheeses. may be nice to own in a personal kitchen library for reference.

I've got this book from the library. It is so nice and fine that I have a feeling I'm not even good enough to read this book. Outstanding pictures, refined recipes, delightful atmosphere.
I'll definitely buy some cheese tonight. Bon appetit!
